Episode 16
Bulimia Nervosa and Recovery with the Eating Disorder Therapist, Harriet Frew
Harriet was brought up on a busy family farm. Her Mum was a great cook and Harriet had a healthy relationship with food. But during her teenage years she developed bulimia nervosa when she tried to break free from familial expectations.
Harriet found freedom at University and through travel. She returned to the UK to further study. As her understanding and fascination around eating disorders grew, she felt finally able to let go of her destructive behaviours.
Harriet now works as a therapist in an adult Eating Disorder Unit and runs a small private practice. She is also creator of the highly successful, The Eating Disorder Therapist podcast.
Join me to hear Harriet’s story and her views on the psychology around food.
